I recently received a request for strawberries. Some ideas are posted in the food pictures. Any other suggestions?

When I started this site, Pinterest was a gleam in the eye of its founders.
I have found that it has AMAZING resources for SWAPS ideas... many of which weren't originally intended for that purpose.
If you are looking for more ideas, check out my SWAPS bulletin board:
I don't always get a chance to transfer pictures from there to here so it's a good opportunity to check out ideas.

Our service unit opts to celebrate World Thinking Day (February 22nd) AFTER the actual day due to the closing weekend of our annual cookie sale. It's just too hectic to try and get it together in time. Our event will be March 23rd so watch for more pictures and ideas to pop up on the site.

My Troop's Cadettes have decided to create SWAPS as their Silver Award. They are each taking turns teaching a SWAP to the rest of the Troop, filming themselves, and making kits to hand out next summer at our Council camps to jump start SWAPS in our Council. (There really isn't an exchange that takes place.) The "how to" videos will begin to appear here VERY soon AND the other part of sustainability is creating a generation of Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts who know what a SWAP is. YEAH...Read Full Post »

Since I'm on break, I'll be spending some time working on taking pictures of some former SWAPs that we've done in the past. Please feel free to share your ideas, pictures, suggestions, etc.

So, my son the First Class Scout, and my daughter, the Cadette, LOVE to eat pistachios. The most inexpensive way to get them is to purchase them in the shell and I keep looking at these nuts and thinking "That's not trash. It could be a SWAP." Other than a mouse, what ELSE could a pistachio be?

I just returned from my annual trek to Camp Texlake in Spicewood, TX and the event which has captured my heart every year for the past four years, Trailblazers! I am working on uploading the pics of the SWAPS that were created as a result of the Advanced SWAPS class that I facilitated. And I have to say it was FUN, FUN, FUN! I cannot WAIT to share these ideas with everyone!

I have to say, I love Pintrest. Not only does it allow me to see the ideas RIGHT then, but with one click I can simply add something to my SWAPS board. As the summer progresses and I catch up on all of my website updates (and now that I've returned from our Troop trip to Savannah), I want to start to make some of those SWAP ideas that I've seen on Pintrest that weren't really SWAPS. I would love to see photos of everyone else's SWAPS too! I see new members here and there and I hope that you a...Read Full Post »

Noticed that we have more and more members! That's great! Please feel free to share your pics, ideas, suggestions, etc. as well as ask questions. I created this as an open forum for Scouts to exchange SWAPS "intel."
And THANKS for joining us!
